What if Tesco don’t have what I’ve ordered?

Sometimes, Tesco don’t always have what you’ve ordered because it’s out of stock. If you’ve chosen to allow substitutions then you’ll be sent the closest alternative that Tesco have. When your driver arrives with your order and you’re not completely happy with the substitution just give it back to the driver for a full refund.

What if my item is damaged?

If an item arrives damaged, just simply hand it back to the driver who will then process your refund. If you don’t notice the damage until the driver is gone, then you can return it to your local store. If you’ve chosen click and collect then you can hand the item back to a Tesco colleague who will then process the refund.

Will I pay more for my substituted item?

No, Tesco price match their substituted items. If you’re offered a more expensive product than the one you’ve ordered you’ll only be charged for the original item. Linked-product savings, multibuy offers and meal deals may be affected by a more expensive item and you may pay more. If you don’t want to pay the extra cost, you can choose to refuse all the items from the deal and get a refund instead.
