Our Guide to Amazon Prime Big Deals Day
Join us for our tips & tricks for shopping in the Amazon Prime Big Deal Day sale.
What and when is the Prime Big Deals Day sale?
The eagerly awaited Prime Big Deals Day sale (what a mouthful) is slated for October 10th to the 11th, 2023 and is Amazon’s second most significant sale of the year. It promises a bonanza of deals and discounts for Amazon Prime members. The sale is the sequel to Amazon’s famous Prime Day. So keep reading for everything you need to know about Prime Day 2 electric boogaloo.
Do I need a Prime subscription?
For all the best deals, yes. For the uninitiated, the Amazon Prime membership costs £8.99/month or £95/year or half price for students, though a 30-day free trial is available to new customers so that you can shop in the sale without a long-term commitment. Other than exclusive sales, Prime comes with free next-day delivery access to Amazon Prime Music, Amazon Prime Video and Prime Gaming, so it’s a worthwhile investment.
Is it the same as Prime Day?
Prime Big Deals Day is the follow-up to the big Prime Day sale in the summer, with huge discounts on hundreds of brands and products focusing on Amazon’s brand items such as Ring, Blink, Alexa, Audible and Kindle.
Much like Prime Day, you'll need an Amazon Prime account to access most of the discounts available.
How to prepare?
Save October 10th to the 11th in your calendar to ensure you don’t miss this big sale event. If you have an Amazon Echo, you can ask Alexa to save the date by saying, “Alexa, set a reminder for Prime Big Deal Days”. You can also sign up for alerts on the official Prime Big Deals Day page, which will keep you updated on the best offers available and any time-sensitive lightning deals that may pop up.
What is going on sale?
Indulge in a fashion shopping spree without feeling a pinch in your pocket with up to 30% off big fashion brands. Whether you want to upgrade your wardrobe with classics from Tommy Hilfiger or athletic wear from Puma, this sale covers you. That’s not all; sparkle a little brighter with big discounts on Swarovski, or embrace a timeless look with attire from Calvin Klein.
But this sale doesn’t stop at fashion; it’s a treasure trove of offers from gaming consoles like the Xbox Series X or Play Station 5 to up to 60% off Amazon-owned smart home products like Amazon Alexa and Ring doorbells. Big deals for great home appliances such as Ninja air fryers and Shark cleaning are also planned. There is something for everyone in Amazon’s second biggest sale of the year. Also, the sale isn’t confined to physical goods; according to the Amazon Event Page, subscription services such as Kindle Unlimited, Amazon Music Unlimited and Audible will be offered.
Not all deals are good
The hype and marketing of big Amazon Prime sales can lead us to get carried away. But not all deals are winners. For example, Oral-B electric toothbrushes are planned to be on sale during the event, but the Oral-B Smart 5 toothbrush is already £100 off, while the top-of-the-line iO8 toothbrush is £300 off. So make sure you only buy what you need or want because many of the products will likely be on sale again. Try helpful comparison tools such as camelcamelcamel, Keepa or PriceRunner to track when items were last on sale.
Also, check out Amazon Warehouse deals to see if you can save more by purchasing returned products at up to 50% off the regular price.
