Over a third of Brits are heading on holiday this Easter, with More Men than Women Opting to Getaway
According to new research, almost 1 in 4 Brits are planning to take a holiday during the Easter holidays.

Almost four in 10 (38%) Brits are planning to take a holiday during the upcoming Easter holidays, according to new research undertaken by discount voucher site MyVoucherCodes.
The study shows that one in four (25%) respondents are going on a UK-based trip this Easter with 13% opting to travel abroad. Two-thirds (64%) of people aren’t travelling anywhere.
Notably, more men than women are getting in on the Easter getaway action, with almost half (46%) of male respondents saying they’ll be heading on holiday compared to just 31% of women.
It’s those aged 25 to 34 most keen to holiday this Easter, with 67% planning a holiday. Meanwhile, 57% of those aged 18 to 24 are also planning a getaway.
When it comes to cost, the average Brit is spending £1271.86 on their Easter getaway, although this drops by almost £400 for those without children, who spend an average of £863.40 .
The research also reveals that families with children are expected to spend significantly more on their Easter breaks. The average spend for a parent with one child is £1238.50, while families with two children are set to spend £1561.60.
Sarah-Jane Outten, shopping expert at MyVoucherCodes, commented, "It's clear that Brits are eager to get away for Easter, with a strong preference for staying within the UK. With the long bank holiday weekend, it can be an ideal time to go away without having to take too much annual leave. And while it can be more expensive than going away in term-time, for those with children, going on holiday at Easter is often a cheaper option than the summer holidays.
“For families, the cost of a holiday can quickly add up. A little extra planning and some savvy shopping can make a big difference when it comes to saving money on your Easter holiday.
“Whether you're flying abroad or exploring the beauty of the UK, these tips can help you stay within budget. Here are my top 5 money-saving tips when booking your Easter holiday:
- Compare hotel prices – Use comparison websites to find the best deals for hotels and holiday rentals. Prices can vary significantly depending on things like proximity to the beach, if any meals are included or even the view from your room, so it pays to think about what you are looking for and shop around.
- Look for airport parking deals – Airport parking can be expensive, but booking in advance using a discount code can save you up to 50%. Check MyVoucherCodes.co.uk for the latest airport parking discounts.
- Travel during off-peak times – If you can be flexible with your dates, you could save money. Take advantage of any inset days your children might have, and if you are flying abroad, consider flying at off-peak hours to save money. You might need a bit of extra caffeine, though!
- Sign up for price alerts – Set up price alerts for your flight or hotel on booking sites. You’ll be notified when prices drop, allowing you to book at the best possible rate – airlines often hold flash sales, so keep an eye on their sites or social media channels too. You could even set post notifications on Instagram to be alerted when they post.
- Use discount voucher codes – Before booking any travel or accommodation, always check for voucher codes. They can save you up to 30% on holiday packages and services.
