What is Uber One and is it Worth it?
If you are wondering what Uber One is, this article will tell you how much you can save and how to become an Uber One member.
In this article:
- What benefits do you get with Uber One?
- How much is Uber One?
- Is Uber One worth it?
- How can I purchase Uber One?
- Can I get a free trial of Uber One?
- How can I cancel Uber One?
- Other ways to save on takeaways and food
One of the latest subscriptions around, Uber One, was launched in 2022. You’re probably familiar with Uber Rides to get from A to B, and grabbing a meal via Uber Eats at the end of the day. Uber One brings both of those apps together as well as providing some additional benefits.
What benefits do you get with Uber One?
There are several advantages to Uber One, some are better than others.
Uber Rides Discount
If you regularly call upon an Uber to get you where you need to be, you can take advantage of 5% off Uber Rides when you are an Uber One member. In addition to this, you can get 10% off Uber Exec and UberLux Rides.
Uber Eats Discount
If you’re partial to a takeaway every now and then (and who isn’t) you will be interested to know you can save money on Uber Eats. Remember that prices are often inflated on Uber Eats as takeaways and shops cover their charges from Uber by making the consumer cover the cost.
- Spend £15 or more and nab free delivery.
- Take 5% off orders over £15.
- There is 5% off grocery orders over £25
- If your order arrives after the ‘lastest arrival by’ time you can get £5 cashback.
- Often, better deals and promotions are available to Uber One members.
Annual plans get free Disney Plus
This is probably the biggest perk for most members. If you choose an annual membership rather than a monthly subscription you can enjoy a standard yearly subscription to Disney Plus for free.
If you are considering buying a year of Disney Plus, it’s better value to buy a year's membership to Uber One.
Is Uber One worth it?
This depends on how much you already use Uber Eats and Uber Rides. If you order takeaways regularly, you will be saving on delivery costs at the very least. If you already use Uber you can take a look at your activity and it will tell you how much you have spent.
If you were going to buy an annual subscription to Disney Plus anyway, Uber One is a good way to save a few quid and grab some additional discounts.
Standard Disney Plus for 12 months is £79.80
Uber One for 12 months is £59.99
On that basis, you can save yourself at least £19.81 over the year. This is without any further savings you might make from Uber Rides and Uber Eats. For many people, Uber One is worth the money.
How can I purchase Uber one?
If Uber One sounds like it's for you, head to the app if you already have it. Or simply download it via the app store.
Can I get a free trial of Uber One?
You sure can, before you commit to Uber One you can try it for 4 weeks. Just bear in mind that you won't get Disney Plus with a trial.
Can I cancel Uber One?
If you find out that Uber One isn’t saving you as much as you would like on takeaways, you another streaming service or aren’t calling a cab as often as you thought, you can cancel. Just go to the app and click on manage membership.
If it’s a free trial, your benefits will end immediately. Otherwise, you will keep access until the end of your billing period.
