Lets be honest, drinks in the UK aren't exactly cheap these days. But what if you could get a round (or two) without spending a penny? Turns out, there are some genuinely easy and legit ways to bag free drinks, whether you're hitting the pub, trying out a new cocktail bar, or just fancy something on the house. 

From birthday treats to loyalty apps, here's how to get a free drink or two without feeling like a freeloader.

Ember Inns

Ember Inns - If you download the Ember Inns app for Android or iOS and register for an account, you can get a free drink, such as a gin & tonic, wine or soft drink, redeemable at any of the 150+ Ember Inn pubs across the nation. However, you must use the drink code within 4 weeks of registering, so make sure you do! 

O2 & Virgin Media Customers -

O2 & Virgin Media Customers - Are you an O2 or Virgin Media Broadband customer? If yes, you can get two free drinks at Ember Inns, O’Neill’s or Sizzling Pubs across England & Wales from 5pm to 8pm on Thursdays. To claim your free drinks, you will need to search for Thirsty Thursdays in the Priority Rewards App and claim your code, then enter your voucher code in the pub’s app. 

Nicholson’s Pubs

Nicholson’s Pubs - This one is for you if you’re a cider drinker. Download the Nicholson’s app on the Android or iOS app store and register your email to get a free bottle of Rekorderlig cider at any one of its pubs. However, residents of Scotland must purchase a meal to claim the drink. Your code must be used within 6 weeks of registering your email address on the app.  

Browns

Browns - By signing up to the newsletter at Browns Brasserie & Bar you will get a code for a free Virgin Yuzu, Elderflower Fizz or Muddle Strawberry Mojito when you order a main meal from their à la carte menu. 

Sizzling Pubs

Sizzling Pubs - Download the Sizzling Pubs app and register for an account to get a free drink in one of 200+ Sizzling Pubs across the UK. Plus, you can earn rewards and stamps whenever you order from a Sizzling restaurant, so it's definitely worth doing. 

All Bar One

All Bar One - If you’re a cocktail lover, download the All Bar One app and register for an account to get a free glass of bubbles at one of their 50+ cocktail bars nationwide. Plus, you’ll also get access to birthday rewards and extra deals, so it's worth doing if you visit. 

Download Dusk

Download Dusk. Dusk is a sweet app that allows you to link your payment card and earn points each time you order a drink at one of its participating venues. You can redeem a free drink every night and even get exclusive rewards. It’s been featured on Business Insider, BuzzFeed and many more, so check it out for some free drinks! 

Brewdog

Brewdog: Book via the BDAY Party Free Drinks option and bring at least three mates at Brewdog, and you can enjoy any draft beer, spirit or one of their cocktails for free on your birthday. However, all attendees have to purchase a drink to get your freebie.
