The latest addition to the Optio M line-up of lightweight digital cameras has been launched by Pentax.
Boasting a fiveX optical zoon, metal exterior and a 2.5-inch LCD monitor all, the ten megapixel Optio M60 also has a face recognition function which can identify up to 32 faces simultaneously.
Pentax's unique Auto Picture function has been updated for the device enabling the camera to detect conditions and select the optimal mode for eight scenes - more than any other Optio device.
"It is now possible to leave everything up to the camera and take photos of a wider variety of scenes easily and beautifully," the company claims.
Keen photographers with money off vouchers can take advantage of the camera's various modes, which include Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, Night Scene Portrait, Standard, Flower, Sport and Candlelight.
The camera also features application functions including Smile Capture, which identifies smiles and causes the camera to automatically take a photo, and Blinking Detection, which warns the photographer if the subject blinked when the photo was taken.
According to Photography Press, the camera, which will be available in silver, pink and blue, will be on sale from August 22nd, priced at around £90.
