News > Microsoft unveils BlueTrack for 'users on the move'

Software giant Microsoft has unveiled a new mouse powered by its BlueTrack technology.
The company claims their new tracking mouse will work on virtually any surface and is aimed at people who are working away from their desk.
Microsoft's new device uses a blue laser, which is four times larger than an average tracker-mouse laser, to render a high contrast image of the surface it is being used on.
The company claims this gives better performance and increased accuracy.
Platforms engineering manager at Microsoft Mark DePue, who co-designed the device, said: "Research shows that people aren't sitting at a desk all day, but they've gone mobile."
"With BlueTrack technology you can rest easier about where your mouse will or won't track - it works just about everywhere," he added.
In related news, Microsoft is testing the latest version of its popular web browser, Internet Explorer 8, which will be available on its Windows XP and Vista operating systems.
