Hewlett Packard (HP) has unveiled a modified laptop which can be used for 24 hours on a single charge.
The EliteBook 6930p, which can be fitted with an ultra-capacity rechargeable battery, can last the whole day between charges without users worrying about running out of power, according to HP.
HP said the laptop could be used continuously on the world's longest commercial flight approximately 18 hours and 40 minutes or on ten cross-channel EuroStar journeys without being recharged.
Senior vice-president and general manager of HP's Notebook Global Business Unit Ted Clark said: "All-day computing has been the holy grail of notebook computing."
"With the HP EliteBook 6930p, customers no longer have to worry about their notebook battery running out before their work day is over," he added.
In related news, Sony has claimed it will use "more realistic" methods when measuring battery life of its laptop products, reports zdnet.com.
