Samsung has unveiled its latest high definition (HD) laptop with a Blu-Ray DVD drive.
The computer manufacturer's new R610 notebook is a high-spec portable computer that offers full HD resolution at 1080p.
Samsung's latest laptop comes with HDMI connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, Dolby 7.1 surround sound and built-in speakers.
It also sports a 16-inch screen, an Intel Centrino 2 processor and nVidia 9200M graphics card, and comes with a built-in card reader and webcam.
The new machine will be available in the UK in October and will cost £799.
Meanwhile, in an interview with pocket-lint.co.uk Andy Griffiths, director of consumer electronics at Samsung UK, said that Blu-Ray technology would only last five years as new developments in on-demand television takeover.
He told the tech-news website that Samsung were hoping to capitalise on Blu-Ray before it is too late saying: "In 2012 we will be in a true HD world."
